Public Transportation

I'm getting a little tired of men who are clearly in front of me in line to get on the bus making a big deal of stepping out of my way. I am capable of standing if the bus is full. No, really! Been capable of standing for most of my life, even!

My nerves, they are gotten on.

I agree. Polite people should die. The next time someone offers to help me with homework, assist me with changing out a flat tire, or drive me to the hospital when I have a 8" steak driven through my chest and I'm fully incapacitated, I will remember this post, and let everyone know that I can handle myself.

Oh wait, that would be rude.

Bitch

Hah, you're so funny! The mental image of a nice medium rare steak in someone's chest will keep me giggling for whole minutes. :)

Care to explain what's polite about this behavior?

And thanks for the compliment, cutie-pie. I am happy to be counted among the ranks of the Bitches.

Argh, Blogger doesn't allow comment editing. In all seriousness, wanted to add this link to tekanji's fabulous discussion of the problems with the concept of chivalry.

Perhaps this will lead you in the correct direction of how to respect a man.

Hah! Are you secretly one of my friends, playing The Sexist for fun? You're too ridiculous to be real. ^_^

Jamie:

You're suggesting that there is some limit of how sexist a man can be?

Julianna, if you're referring to my response to Ray, then no, I don't think there's a limit. I just find his comments hilarious enough to be faked. There is no reason why they can't be real; it just further confirms my belief that feminism is necessary, and motivates me rather than discouraging me.
