Now that that's out of the way... Scroll down a bit for what I have to say.













YES! I was SO right! Take that all you people who thought I was wrong. ^_^ I knew knew knew that Snape was not evil, and the he and Dumbledore planned D's death. Victory to the uber-nerds! All of my high school friends, who followed the books and their characters as closely and lovingly as I did, agreed with me. We knew, beyond doubt, that Snape was going to turn out good, and if he didn't, it was because JKR wasn't thinking.

The people I'd talked to in college were much more of the, "I <3 Gryffindors because they're the irrefutable 'good guys'!" variety. So, as one might suppose, walking them through all the reasons why Snape had to be on Dumbledore's side was a pain and generally fruitless. Especially since my personal favorite reason was, "But he's dark and brooding! Sexy!! Hello!" Yeah, that doesn't exactly go over well with any but a very select type of person. :) (i.e. Eew, but his hair is greasy! To which I reply, "So?")

So anyway, I've finally been vindicated about Snape, and I'm so happy about it I can hardly talk about any other aspect of the book. Give me a while. I'll reread the darn thing and then try to come up with something a bit more coherent. Until then, Harry Potter Whee!!!!!!!! ^_^
